Time for Obama to Pull a Clinton

In his 1996 State of the Union address, President Bill Clinton proclaimed that the "era of big government is over."

  1. If the stimulus increased the amount of jobs, why would Obama need to draw into a shell of conservative spending? Shouldn't the people see that what he's doing is doing some good? So more of what he's already doing should do even more good. Conservative spending and limited government, and what? Let the economy fix itself? Without the stimulus, where's the money going to come from. Bush had 8 years to send the economy into a downward spiral, they're giving Obama 2 years to clean it back up? Seems unfair to me. Yes, at this point it's reasonable to expect the economy to be picking back up, but he helped the job market didn't he? It would be a completely different story if the Obama administration was just sitting on their buts going "well our hands are tied. Bush screwed the whole thing up. Woe is me!". But that's not the case, they're trying. I'd like to see the critics of the whole deal get into office and do a better job than Obama is doing. I sound biased. Maybe I am a tad. But am I completely ignorant?

  2. Interesting post.
The stimulus HASN'T decreased unemployment as advertised. That's the problem.
